Sir Dregan’s disappearance
Since the disappearance of sir Dregan and the subsequent announcement of his demise by the Azorius Senate the knight’s associates have been doubting the official story as it was presented by Azorius advokists. The Orzhov knew from the very beginning that sir Dregan was not dead because had he died he knew better than to keep that a secret from them. Despite this, they pushed for a quick auction of his estate. He was, after all, legally deceased so it was in their right even though they knew there was more to the story. Dregan’s servant Berengar and his posthumous father Remus Sharpe, the patriarch of the Sharpe bloodline, had something to say about the matter however and thus the auction was postponed indefinitely. There are few brave enough to face lord Remus in the court of law, and there is no reprieve for anyone who might have hurt a member of his expansive family.
Dregan’s communication
Dregan has been engaging in communication with his servant Berengar, and I have long been thinking of contacting you through him, seeing as how it was apparently impossible to communicate with someone on a different plane before. How did he, and you for that matter, even achieve this in the first place? The little information I managed to find on Ravnica spoke of the planar barriers and the impossibility of breaching them, yet now we can speak freely?
Anyway, so sir Dregan is communicating with his guild, and his father has protected his assets. Something about this has attracted the attention of the Obzedat, but why? I wasn’t able to find that out. The Obzedat keep their thoughts to themselves and it is rarely that their attention falls to the lower classes of Orzhov, so why now are they keeping an eye on a vampire like Dregan?
From Berengar’s conversations with Orzhov advokists it is somewhat clear what Dregan spoke to Berengar about. Since their communication occurred via Sending it is impossible to find out exactly what they were talking about as the conversation was in their heads, but I have a good notion from what Berengar said to the advokists and bankers of the Syndicate. It would seem that Dregan asked Berengar to do some important bureaucratic work. He wanted Berengar to:
- Notify the Syndicate of his continued existence, which they claim to have already known.
- Have them continue to pay his salary into a savings fond for him to collect at his return, which they declined citing he abandoned his position.
- bring Dregan up to date on the happenings on Ravnica.
